Dear Cobb Childcare & Preschool Families:

First and foremost, thank you all for your fantastic support during this uncertain situation. We’ve been working hard to ensure all children and teachers stay safe, and have created a temporary policy which we feel will help us best do that:

  • Effective March 23rd, 2020, no one other than teachers and children will be allowed past the lobby. Children will be dropped off to a staff member in the lobby and brought to the appropriate classroom by a staff member. We will have teachers available for drop off until 9:30 am, so please make sure your children arrive before then.
  • All children will be temperature-checked at drop off. Children with a temperature of 100 degrees or higher will not be allowed to enter. Children’s hands will be wiped upon entry. Please note- this may slow down drop-off, so please plan for a few extra minutes.
  • Pick up: Children must be picked up in the lobby as well. In order to facilitate this, parents are asked to message via BrightWheel when they are on their way. We are also planning to have someone staffed at the drop-off door. If both those fail-safes fail, you can call our main line at 541-957-1008. We understand this is an inconvenience, but we feel it is the best preventative measure to keep our school open as long as possible.

Tuition:

Our policy for voluntary absences has not changed, as we count on tuition to pay our staff and operate the center. However, we have adjusted our tuition policy temporarily during this time for the month of April 2020. We will waive April tuition for families who have been temporarily laid off due to COVID-19. In order to qualify for this adjustment, you must bring in a copy of your signed layoff notice on official letterhead, or a copy of your unemployment benefit approval letter. While we will not fill your child’s spot for the month of April, if a reduction in tuition means a reduction in our own staffing, families who are not attending or paying tuition may be dinsenrolled to meet child-teacher ratios if we are unable to re-hire staff. If your family would like to take advantage of this option, please let us know no later than March 27th 2020.

This is a unique and trying time for all of us! We are committed to serving our community and doing our part to keep things moving, so long as we are able to do so safely. As you know, things change quite rapidly, so this message is subject to change at any time, and I will keep you informed.

Warmly,

Jessica Gaul
