As part of my position, I attend 15 hours of continuing education every year and in May of 2012, I will finish a directors course.

Hi, my name is Cindy. I am the assistant supervisor/ floater. I started working at Cobb in 2004 and each year I attend a seminar for 15 hours of continuing education. I am married and have children of my own.

Favorite Part of the Job: I love playing on the floor and reading to the kids.

Interesting Fact:When I was a little girl, I got a pin for everyday that I attended Sunday school and I never missed a day.

Education and Continued Ed: I have passed a class in my Child Development at U.C.C. and I have a High School Diploma from R.H.S. I also have many hours of training from family development, care courses, and trainings from Cobb Discovery Center.
Experience: I got most of my experience from raising my own children. I ran my own child care in my home for 5 years. I had 6 children in m care, two of them being my own. They were all 3 years and younger.  How long have you been associate with Cobb Discovery: 1.5 years

Teaching philosophy: I like to teach the kids with hands on approach. I feel they learn better by doing, rather than seeing.
What is your favorite aspect of teaching at Cobb Discovery? When I see a child learn, it is the most rewarding experience!

Hi I’m Jessica. I am the four year old teacher. I started working here in 2006 but briefly left to work at head start and I returned to Cobb in 2011. I have my teaching certificate and each year I attend a seminar for 15 hours of continuing education. I am working towards my BA.

Teaching philosophy: I really enjoy the 3-year-olds. I like to see the children’s faces when they learn shapes, colors, numbers, and letters. I like to make learning fun!
What is your favorite aspect of teaching at Cobb Discovery? I like working with the 3 year olds. I also like talking with the parents. I always want to be a team player also.Hobbies: Camping, making soap, making bread and rolls, and spending time with my family.

Hi I’m Jackie. I am the 1 year old teacher and I started working here in 2011. I have worked in childcare since I was 18 years old, am married and I’m a mother of two. Currently, I am attending college to become a Speech Language Pathologist Asst. and each year I attend a seminar for 15 hours of continuing education.
