Why We’re Different
Cobb School is a school where the arts are combined in every aspect of its curriculum. Our school philosophy is based on the Four Tenets of human excellence rather than any one doctrine of religion. Family values are at the very core of our curriculum; therefore, we have active parents who are very much a part of our school.
Academics
- Integration of art, art history, drama, and dance into the curriculum
- Access to special classes that may not be offered in public schools—Spanish, art, music, P.E., & computers
- Student test scores are typically one-to-two grades higher than other schools in the surrounding area.
The School Family
- Interaction between different ages of students through reading buddies, informal interaction, and all-school celebrations
- Small class size with strong teacher to student ratio (Academic classes are generally 20 students or fewer.)
Development of the Whole Child

Middle school reading buddy with kindergartners
- Parents want a close relationship with staff as together we teach “our” kids
- Emphasis on independent thought, leadership, and decision making skills for each student
- Focus on recycling and respect for the environment
- Development of community service as a life process
