Our Alumni
Our Cobb School Graduates make us proud. We are a young school yet we have graduates that are already out in the world making a positive difference. Cobb School strongly encourages students to strive for academic excellence, to pursue higher education, and to give back to their communities. A very high percentage of our graduates continue on to college. Based on recent research of our graduates, their high school graduation rate is near 100%, as is enrollment in higher education post high school. To provide perspective, the local high school graduation rate for our overall community is 70%. (Comparison data taken from the 2009-2010 School Report Card for Roseburg High School). We prepare, encourage, and motivate our students for academic success beyond the time they are here at Cobb School.
During their high school years, Cobb graduates have been involved in many activities that they were first introduced to while at Cobb School such as Band, Foreign Languages, Art, Team and Individual Sports, Community Service, Leadership, international educational opportunities, Martial Arts, Drama, 4-H, etc. a number of Cobb School graduates have been National Honor Society Scholars in recognition of their high grades and community service. Some have enrolled in foreign student exchange programs and have studied in Germany, Finland, Chile, and Sweden.
Our graduates have attended colleges such as Oregon State University, University of Oregon, Lewis & Clark, Chapman University, Western Oregon University, Seattle Pacific University, The Art Institute of Portland, Barnard College, Brigham Young University, Pacific University, Eastern Oregon University, Washington State University, Linn Benton and Umpqua Community Colleges. Others have enrolled in professional trade schools. Some have volunteered to serve our nation in the Military, and with AmeriCorps. Some participate in exciting opportunities for learning, such as Internships in Washington, DC. Our former students have a wide range of interests and the academic and personal foundation to follow their dreams. Cobb graduates go on to do great things with their lives.
